We’re proud to support students who have taken cosmetology in high school and want to continue developing their skills. Scholarships range from $500 to $2000 depending on eligibility and program

Cosmetology Achiever Award

Eligibility Requirements

High school students who completed cosmetology with 80% or higher

Open to

Applicants enrolling in any GD College diploma program

Application Materials

Academic transcript
Cosmetology portfolio (3-5 examples)
Letter of recommendation from cosmetology instructor
Personal essay on why you want to pursue your chosen course

Selection Criteria

Academic excellence, practical skill showcased in portfolio, and a personal essay on why they want to pursue the course they have chosen

Wellness Futures Award

Eligibility Requirements

Completion of high school biology course and enrollment in the Massage Therapy diploma program

Open to

Students who demonstrate a passion for anatomy, wellness, and therapeutic careers

Application Materials

High school transcript showing biology, a short essay (1000 words) on “Why I want to pursue Massage Therapy,” and one reference letter

Academic background, commitment to health and wellness, and overall application strength

Scholarships for Mature Admissions

Mature Student Entry Award

Eligibility Requirements

Applicant must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
Must meet one of the following academic readiness options:
- Provide a Canadian high school diploma.
- Complete the Wonderlic Admissions Test administered by GD College.

Application Materials

Submit a Personal Essay (minimum 1,000 words) that includes:

A personal introduction.
Your life journey and any challenges you have overcome.
Why you have chosen this specific program at GD College.
Your short- and long-term goals in the beauty and wellness industry.
What success means to you, and how this program fits into your vision for the future.

Empowering Communities Award

Eligibility Requirements

Applicant must be 21 years of age or older.
Must meet one of the following academic readiness options:
- Provide a Canadian high school diploma, OR
- Submit an IQAS (International Qualifications Assessment Service) or WES equivalency confirming a high school diploma level, OR
- Complete the Wonderlic Admissions Test administered by GD College.
Must provide proof of English proficiency at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 5 or higher.

Application Materials

Submit a Personal Essay (minimum 1,000 words) including:

Your personal background and journey.
Why you are pursuing this program at GD College.
Your career goals and aspirations.
A reflection on the importance of education at this stage of your life.

Submit an additional Community Impact Essay (minimum 500 words) detailing:

How you plan to positively impact your community through your education and future work.
Any initiatives, challenges, or advocacy work you have been involved in or wish to start.
Your thoughts on representation, empowerment, and making space for others in the industry.
